2011 EWGAGolf League at Glenway

Welcome to 2011 EWGA Golf League at Glenway.  Our league will play Wednesday nights for 12 weeks. (May 18 – Aug 3).  Tee times begin at 4:15 and end at 4:41.

Play Your Designated Tee Time

The tee time schedule has been structured to evenly split the early and late tee times and to give everyone the opportunity to play with each other.  We will attempt to stick to the schedule.  However, we will be prepared to play “ready golf” if necessary.   Please arrive 10 – 15 minutes early to check-in and to prepare to proceed on time.

Stroke Rule

In order to keep pace of play, please limit yourself to 10 strokes per hole, including whiffs and penalty strokes.   After 10 strokes, you should pick up your ball and allow the rest of your foursome to complete the hole.  Record a 10 on your scorecard and strive to minimize the number of holes in which you are forced to pick up.

Rain/Bad Weather

Always assume that you are playing.  If the weather is bad all day, we will try to get a decision on play from Glenway as soon as possible.  In general, unless there is a lot of standing water or lightening, we will play.  If the course closes, we will be offered an extra day at the end of the schedule, or if that is not possible, a rain check. However, if it is raining, and the course is open and you decide not to play, you are not offered another game or rain check.

Substitutes

You are responsible to find a sub if you are unable to play.  Please follow the directions below to send an e-mail to the women who are registered on the sub list for the Glenway- Wednesday league:

1) Click on Members Only section on the EWGA Madison Web site and enter your name and password to sign in.
2) Click on Send an Email.
3) Click on the drop list for 'Category/League to Send To' and select the Glenway-Wednesday Subs list.  Make sure you chose the subs list for the Glenway or your request will go to the actual league and not to the subs.
4) Type the message of your e-mail and click the Send button.  It's a good idea to include the date, place (many people are on more than one sub list) and your tee time.  You should indicate if you would like to be reimbursed for the greens fee.  Some people do, some don’t.

Stick Around After Golf

If possible, join your fellow league members for a drink, sandwich and great conversation in the club house or the Village Bar following golf.  This is a great way to relax and meet some new friends!
