Pleasant View EWGA League 2010

Welcome to the first year of EWGA golf at Pleasant View!  Our league will play on Wednesday nights for 12 weeks (May 19  through August 4). Tee times begin at 4:56 and end at 5:04 (extending up to 5:20 if more players sign up).  We will also be rotating between the Prairie, Lake and Woods courses. I will send out a full schedule of tee times once registration for the league has closed. Until then, I have attached the tee times for the first 2 weeks. We are hoping to add a few more players following the Mentoring event on Thurs, May 13. The full schedule will also be posted on the EWGA website.

Stroke Rule

In order to keep pace of play, please limit yourself to 10 strokes per hole.  After 10 strokes, you should pick up your ball and allow the rest of your foursome to complete the hole.  Record a 10 on your scorecard and strive to minimize the number of holes in which you are forced to pick up.

Scorecards and Handicap

Pleasant View Hills does not have a computer to enter your scores for handicap purposes.  You will be able to do this online from any computer at your leisure. More information how to do this will follow shortly.

Rain/Bad Weather

Always assume that you are playing.  If the weather is bad all day, I will try to get a decision on play from Pleasant View as soon as possible.  In general, unless there is a lot of standing water or lightening, we will play.  If the course closes, we will be offered an extra day at the end of the schedule, or if that is not possible, a rain check. However, if it is raining, and the course is open and you decide not to play, you are not offered another game or rain check.

Play Your Designated Tee Time

The tee time schedule has been structured to evenly split the early and late tee times and to give everyone the opportunity to play with each other.  If you arrive late for your tee time, do not assume that you can golf with a later group.  It is likely that you will have to skip a few holes and join with your designated group, wherever they may be.

Substitutes

It is your responsibility to obtain a substitute if you are unable to play.  To find a sub, log on to the EWGA Madison website Members Only  and send an email to the sub group. You are given the option to select the Wednesday Pleasant View Sub List.  You type in the message on the tee time and date and the system sends the e-mail directly to the names on the Pleasant View sub list.  If you have a sub, please let me know so that I can have the card ready for the appropriate person.  Many times the sub forgets the name of the person they are subbing for.  It makes it easier if we know to expect them.  If you are splitting a league, but interested in a few extra nights of golf, you may want to add you name to the sub list.

Check-in

When you arrive at Pleasant View Hills, please check in with me or someone on the assigned foursome.  We will be located near the starter, adjacent to the course.  You will pick up your score card and the weekly flyer which will contain an etiquette/rule tip of the week and instructions on any special games that will be played that week.  Always arrive early and be ready to play 10-15 minutes before your scheduled tee time.  This courtesy ensures that everyone will play their full 9 holes before the sun sets!

Pleasant View Hills Roster

A roster of league members is attached.  If you would like to update any of the information, please do so on the EWGA national website.

Stick Around After Golf

If possible, join your fellow league members for a drink, sandwich and great conversation in the club house following golf.  This is a great way to relax and meet some new friends!

This is YOUR league – have fun and please share your feedback on what you like, dislike, etc. so that we can make improvements each year.

Feel free to contact me at any time!
