Additional Details for those that simply must know?
Handicapping
Individual handicaps will be used to in order to provide for a net score on each hole. Each best ball hole will be net (the number of strokes each player receives on the hole is indicated on the scorecard); the team chooses the lower net score as the team score for the hole.
For the holes played in a scramble or alternate shot format, the average of the two teammates' handicaps will be used to determine the number of strokes the team receives on each hole.
All information and details regarding scoring will be provided on the scorecards enabling you to simply write down your score and the golf course will do the calculations.
Tournament Format
We will use a combination format (much like a Solheim or Ryder cup competition) that should provide both fun and challenge. Each format will be played for 6 holes.
Best Ball
Each player on the team plays his or her own golf ball throughout the 6 holes, and on each hole the low net score- or "best ball"- of the two serves as the team score. Player A gets a 5, B gets a 4, then the team score for that hole is 4, because the low score of the group was B's 4.
Scramble
In a scramble, each player on the two-person team tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and both players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then both play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed.
Alternate Shot
The 2-person team alternates hitting the same ball. Both players tee off, one of the drives is selected. The second player hits the second shot, the first player hits the third shot, and so on until the ball is holed.
Scoring
Each 2-person team will submit their scorecards at the end of their round. The Badger Cup Trophy will be based on the averaging the net scores for all participants for each chapter. The Chapter with the lowest net average will be the Badger Cup Winner.
Prizes
The coveted Badger Cup will be awarded to the Chapter that has the lowest average net score. This Chapter will receive the traveling Badger Cup trophy and their Chapter Name and year will be emblazoned on the trophy for eternity.
Many other prizes available for all participants to have a chance to win!
[When you register online, we'll need you to provide your chapter name, your handicap, and your teammate's name]
