Don't miss out on a great way to play a fantastic golf course, with a teammate in a fun format as well as meet and mingle with members of the other Wisconsin chapters.

We will use each team member's handicap to create a team handicap.  You and your teammate will then play using a combination format.

Handicapping

Individual handicaps will be used to in order to provide a + or ? factor for each 2-person team:.

            Players Handicap                     Factor

            5.0 or less                                     +3

            Between 5.1 and <13.1                   +2

            Between 13.1 and <20.1                 +1

            Between 20.1 and <27.1                  0

            Between 27.1 and <33.1                 -1

            Between 33.1 and higher                 -2

The factor for each individual are added together to determine the team factor.   It is this factor that is used for the handicap when competing against the other 2-person teams.  Example:  Golfer 1 on the team has a 19.8 handicap and Golfer 2 has a 24.9 handicap.   Golfer 1 has a factor of +1 and Golfer 2 has a factor of 0 - -so the team factor is +1.

Tournament Format

We will use a combination format (much like a Solheim or Ryder cup competition) that should provide both fun and challenge.

Holes 1-6:               Best Ball
Holes 7-12:             Scramble

Holes 13-18:            Alternate Shot

Best Ball (Holes 1-6)

Each player on the team plays his or her own golf ball throughout the 6 holes, and on each hole the low score- or "best ball"- of the two serves as the team score. PLayer A gets a 5, B gets a 4, then the team score for that hole is 4, because the low score of the group was B's 4.

Scramble  (Holes 7-12)

In a scramble, each player on the two-person team tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and both players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then both play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed.

Alternate Shot (Holes 13-18)

The 2-person team alternates hitting the same ball. The first player tees off, the second player hits the second shot, the first player hits the third shot, and so on until the ball is holed. Tee balls are alternated so that the same player doesn't hit every drive (Player 1 hits drives on 13, 15 and 17.  Player 2 hits drives on 14, 16 and 18).

Scoring

Each 2-person team will submit their gross and net score at the end of their round.   The Badger Cup Trophy will be based on the top X** number of teams from each Chapter.   X** is determined by the Chapter that has the smallest number of teams competing.  For example:  If Fox Cities sends 3 teams and the other Chapters all have more than 3 teams,  we will use the top 3 teams from each Chapter as our basis for tallying the winner.    The best 3 scores from each Chapter will be added together and the lowest total scoring Chapter will be the Badger Cup Winner.

Prizes

The coveted Badger Cup will be awarded to the Chapter that has the lowest combined score from the number of scores tallied.    This Chapter will receive the traveling Badger Cup trophy and their Chapter Name and year will be emblazoned on the trophy for eternity.

The individuals from the teams that comprised the winning scores will each receive individual prizes.

Many other prizes available for all participants to have a chance to win!

[We'll need you to provide your chapter name, your handicap, and your teammate's name]
